IBIZA ONLY FOR ME

HOW TO SPEND A DAY IN IBIZA IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER AND NOT SUFFER FROM TOURISM
Ibiza is also a place where nature, traditions and little escapes can offer a magical counterpoint to the summer crowds. In August, the beautiful island can be overrun with mass tourism, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed by tourists. However, there are still hidden places, secret beaches, remote villages, and quiet corners where you can enjoy the island like an Ibicenco.
Ibiza in August can seem overwhelming with its crowds of tourists and oppressive heat, but by following these tips and favoring more discreet places, you can enjoy the island in a more calm and authentic way, and reconnect with the true essence of Ibiza. So, put on your walking shoes, rent a car, and set off to discover the island's hidden treasures. Here are some tips and addresses for spending a day in Ibiza without suffering from the summer crowds.
1. Start your day early: in the morning in Ibiza, before the crowds arrive
To escape the crowds of tourists the first tip is to wake up early, especially in summer. The early hours of the morning are ideal for enjoying the landscapes. If you want to avoid the hordes of tourists, it's essential to start your day before 9 a.m. The calm of the island at these times is incredible, and you will be able to enjoy the place before the heat and the crowds take over :
* Cala Xarraca Beach: A small, still quite secret beach in the north of Ibiza. Surrounded by vegetation, it is ideal for starting the day gently with a swim in crystal clear waters
* Aguas Blancas: Perfectly oriented towards the sunrise, Aguas Blancas is very calm in the morning
2. Discover hidden coves and lesser-known beaches
The most famous beaches, such as Punta Galera, Ses Salines or Playa d'en Bossa, are crowded from the morning onwards. However, Ibiza is full of small hidden coves and beaches, often more accessible on foot or by boat, and which remain much more peaceful. These are some beaches to look at:
* S’Illot des Renclí: Tiny cove with turquoise water, you have to arrive early in the morning to find a place on the sand. The restaurant, without frills, is definitely worth it. We recommend enjoying the beach in the morning and reserving a table on the terrace for lunch, plus a nap on your ôbaba after lunch
* Cala Pluma: Walking from Salines, after Sa Trintxa towards the small tower on the coast there are small coves of great beauty and not too well known
* Cala Llentia: Located near Cala d’Hort, this small beach is still relatively unknown and accessible on foot after a short hike. The water is crystal clear, and the view of Es Vedrà, the mysterious rock offshore, is spectacular
* Cala Martina: Small beach with a very nice restaurant to eat a paella (Restaurante Cala Martina). The walk along the coast is magnificent
* Cala Jondal: Although this beach has some very popular chiringuitos (like Blue Marlin or Tropicana), it is quieter than those of Playa d'en Bossa. You will also find more remote coves accessible by boat
* Cala Saladeta: Only if you go early in the morning, you will be able to enjoy this small beach located on foot near Cala Salada, and surrounded by pine trees. The water is turquoise, ideal for swimming. In summer time the car parking will be full from the morning, so there will be a limited number of people on the beach compared to other beaches in the area.
3. Take a trip to the interior of the island, to the markets and villages
Ibiza is not just the coast and its beaches. The interior of the island is full of picturesque villages, fields of fig trees, olive trees and hidden hiking trails. Ibiza is also a place where local crafts and organic products are very present. Rather than heading to tourist markets, explore the lesser-known markets, where locals go to buy fresh produce and authentic souvenirs. If you move a little away from the coast, you will find wild landscapes and much quieter places, far from the tourist areas.
* Es Cubells: This small village perched on the mountain offers spectacular views of the sea and the neighboring island of Formentera. It is often ignored by tourists due to its somewhat difficult access, but it is one of the best places to feel the calm of the island
* Saint Joan: small authentic village, on Sundays there is a market
* Mercado de Sant Jordi: Located near the airport, this market is frequented by locals and offers a nice selection of fresh produce, cheeses, meats and seasonal fruits. Ideal for an authentic experience away from the crowds of tourists
* Las Dalias hippie market (San Carlos) – only early in the morning: A little too well known for us but it remains one of the places to discover local Ibiza crafts. If you go when it opens, you will avoid the crowds and you will be able to find unique objects, handmade jewelry and bohemian clothing
* Santa Gertrudis: This small village in the center of Ibiza is perfect for a lunch break away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches. Between its charming streets, local restaurants and artisan shops, you can spend a quiet moment there. Try Boutique Claire and Bar Costa for an authentic experience

4. Go green: Enjoy natural parks and wild landscapes
The island is more than just a beach destination. It is also home to natural parks and protected areas where fauna and flora are preserved. These places are perfect for escaping the heat and crowds while still being immersed in nature. What to discover: Ses Salines Natural Park, although this park is known for its salt pans and popular beaches, it is also home to many hiking trails and secluded corners where you can escape the crowds. The Mirador de Es Vedrà offers stunning views of the mystical rock while being relatively far from the crowded beaches. Cueva de Can Marçà: Located in the north of Ibiza, this ancient cave on one side of the mountain offers a beautiful walk in a natural and isolated setting. Perfect for those who like to combine adventure and tranquility. Sa Talaia has beautiful views of the island.
5. Go for lunch or dinner in a quiet place
No need to find yourself in a crowded restaurant in Ibiza town or San Antonio. There are more discreet places, where you can enjoy a good lunch or dinner while being surrounded by the authenticity of the island. Here are three recommendations:
* Es Cucons (Santa Agnès): A wonderful surprise in a green setting, this “agriturismo” offers a quiet corner of paradise
* Can Berri Vell (San Agustín): A hidden restaurant, nestled in an ancient Ibicenco village, with an intimate atmosphere and exceptional traditional cuisine. Perfect for a quiet evening, away from the hustle and bustle
* Es Torrent: A waterside restaurant in the Cala Jondal area, which offers fresh fish and seafood dishes in a relaxed and less touristy atmosphere than other nearby establishments. There is also a cool shop
* La Paloma (San Lorenzo): This restaurant is located in a picturesque setting in the heart of the island. Off the tourist trail, it offers simple but delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Very charming
